Witness Attendant to Trump’s Rally in Pennsylvania Says He Saw Shooter on a Near Roof

A witness who attendant to the former president Donald Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania in which he was shot, injuring the Republican and killing an attendant, said he saw man with a rifle on a rooftop minutes before shots were fired.

Greg, the witness said the British BBC that the man had crawled on top of a building just outside the event in Butler County on Friday evening. “I’m thinking to myself ‘Why is Trump still speaking, why have they not pulled him off the stage’… the next thing you know, five shots ring out,” he said.
Greg said he noticed bear-crawling up the roof of the building beside us, 50ft away. “We’re pointing at him, the police are down there running around on the ground, we’re like ‘Hey man, there’s a guy on the roof with a rifle’… and the police did not know what was going on.”
The witness emphasizes that he tried to alert the authorities for three or four minutes, but thinks they probably couldn’t see the gunman because of the slope of the roof.
“Why is there not Secret Service on all of these roofs here?” he asked BBC. “This is not a big place.” Greg told to the British radio broadcaster that agents shoot the gunman: “They crawled up on the roof, they had their guns pointed at him, made sure he was dead. He was dead, and that was it – it was over.”
On the other hand, Anthony Guglielmi, the Secret Service communications chief confirmed on a statement that staff of this body “neutralized” the author of the shooting.
“US Secret Service personnel neutralized the shooter, who is now deceased. US Secret Service quickly responded with protective measures and the former president is safe and being evaluated,” reads the statement.
It confirmed that “One spectator was killed, two spectators were critically injured. The incident is currently under investigation and the Secret Service has formally notified the Federal Bureau of investigation.”
